How to Size Crypto Positions
In crypto futures and perpetual swaps, position sizing dictates exactly how much capital you risk if your stop loss is hit, protecting you from sudden market volatility and liquidation cascades.
Does leverage change my risk?
No. Your position size is purely calculated based on the distance between your Entry and Stop Loss. Leverage only changes how much margin is required to open that position. You will lose the exact same amount of money whether you use 5x or 50x leverage, assuming your position size and stop loss remain the same.

Critical Note on Liquidation vs Stop Loss:
Ensure your liquidation price sits well beyond your stop loss price! If you utilize excessively high leverage (e.g. 50x or 100x), the exchange's maintenance margin requirement may force an automated liquidation prior to price ever reaching your technical stop-loss trigger.
